Another NAB in the books, and wow – this was a good one. We met so many new people, plus we got to reconnect with old friends. Not to mention, we introduced 4 (that’s right, count ‘em, FOUR) brand new products.

Need a recap? Here’s what was new from us this year:

EarShot IFB

Comrex EarShot IFB is a hardware-based system that delivers up to four audio feeds using low-cost VoIP telephone service. EarShot IFB is designed to provide telephone-based live studio program and IFB audio to field-based remote broadcasts, like TV ENG reports. Up to 30 regular callers or 10 wideband connections can be made with easy selection between the four audio feeds – this makes it possible to replace up to 30 POTS lines with one simple box.

FieldTap

A free smartphone application available for iOS and Android, FieldTap lets the user connect to any Comrex IP codec from a cell phone at the tap of a button. FieldTap provides high-quality audio and wideband calling using SIP protocol. Plus, FieldTap can call into EarShot IFB and STAC VIP for wideband calls, too! FieldTap will be available for free download in late May/early June.

ACCESS NX Rack

Our reinvented rackmount IP audio codec will feature AES67 in addition to AES3 and standard analog I/O. ACCESS NX Rack features a new, user-friendly, web-based interface (that doesn’t use Flash). Plus, ACCESS NX Rack includes EBU 3326/SIP modes for compatibility. We’re planning to release ACCESS NX Rack at the end of 2018.

ACCESS MultiRack

For users who need multiple rackmounts – ACCESS MultiRack is five audio codecs in a single rack unit. Perfect for large operations. ACCESS MultiRack allows for five simultaneous full-duplex connections to ACCESS Portables (Classic, 2USB, and NX), ACCESS Racks (Classic and NX), and BRIC-Link (Classic and II) codecs as well as FieldTap. Release date is targeted for end of 2018

Plus, we showed some customer favorites – ACCESS NX, Opal, and LiveShot. Opal is now compatible with Safari, making it easier for iOS users to work with. And we enjoyed hearing from ACCESS NX and LiveShot users about all the remotes they coordinated in 2018 – broadcasters continue to go further with IP.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth – see you next year!
