Comments

Beta Tester: Silver Lake Audio

Steve Kirsch of Silver Lake Audio, which will be renting it out when it's available, took the Matrix & GSM Module out for a spin and reported this:

"The feed was rock solid. I'm very impressed - it sounds much better than I thought it would"

Beta Tester: KLOU

Daryl McQuinn, Director of Engineering for Clear Channel - St. Louis took his Matrix GSM beta to the T-Mobile store in the mall to try it before he invested in an account. T-Mobile loaned him a SIM card and Daryl popped it into the Matrix and dialed the Matrix rackmount back at the station. His engineer, JC Hall was waiting at the station to hear the call and all he could say was,"Wow!" JC brought KLOU's Program Director, Al Brock back to hear the audio and all he could say was,"Wow!" McQuinn states that if you put the Matrix on GSM in perspective and remember that you are using wireless services, it is especially incredible. The KLOU team decided that this "sounds much better than a bad (RPU) and not quite as good as a good (RPU) but way better than you should ever expect from a cell phone remote!"

Morning hosts Steve Kelly and Mike Haile did a two hour remote from a moving train from Champaign to Chicago - (for the record Comrex, being very conservative, does not recommend this application due to the difficulty of handing off between cell towers while moving at 79 mph... but we're very pleased that it worked so well!

The first photo was taken on the train and the one below it is at Union Station.
