NOT FOR USE IN NORTH AMERICA
NOTE: Matrix will require upgrade for use with the GSM module. Please contact Comrex tech support at techies@comrex.com to inquire about your Matrix.
With the GSM Wireless Module, you can broadcast quality audio, without being tied to a phone line. This module incorporates a GSM wireless phone which is operated via the keypad of the Matrix. A new, enhanced voice algorithm boosts frequency response to 7 kHz on bit rates as low as 9600 baud. Finally, broadcasters have a suitable solution to deliver audio live from press conferences, parking lots, or nearly anywhere a phone line is not available. This module may be used in any portable Matrix. (Existing units may require upgrading.)
Phone Service
The GSM Wireless Module requires GSM circuit-switched data service.
The Matrix Rack is a 1U rackmount, perfect for receiving your GSM codec calls on a land line. The Matrix Rack is compatible with all earlier Comrex POTS codecs. It is also possible to use another portable Matrix or a BlueBox to receive a GSM codec call. (Upgrades to early Matrix or BlueBox may be necessary.)
The Wireless Module joins a line of other accessories for the Matrix. The ISDN Module converts the Matrix into an ISDN codec, while the TelCell Module transforms the unit into a coupler/hybrid on telephone lines and most cell phones.
The Matrix is the hub of the Comrex Remote Broadcast System. The Comrex POTS codec line (Matrix, Vector, BlueBox) can be used interchangeably, offering up to 15kHz frequency response on plain telephone service. All current models are also backward-compatible with the classic HotLine model. Comrex ISDN codecs (Nexus, Envoy, Matrix ISDN) support many standard protocols, plus Comrex’s Turbo G.722, a low-delay 15kHz algorithm.
